The Hotel President, Mr. Manuel Moratiel , after traveling to cities like Paris and New York, noted the importance and valuation urban gardens have within haute cuisine. These business concerns have made to export this idea to its flagship, the Wellington Hotel.
The process of this idea in the Hotel has not been easy to implement , the operative has been complicated because of the access to the roof from the street are complicated and had to be carefully planned so as weights measures supporting the roof. This process along with the selection of seeds has lasted several months.
The result was worth it ! 14 plots of organic farming where you can find , among others, red chard , black Floren tomato , borage or pea tear. Over 4200 units and 35 varieties of green plants, free of fungicides , pesticides etc . occupying 300m2 of garden . Compost is totally organic animal and vegetable.
Today it is a reality , the rooftop of Wellington Hotel has its own self-sustaining garden . A space with magnificent views over the roofs of the Barrio de Salamanca, been the scene of major productions and reports.
